Setting up on your own as a real estate agent or Realtor is tough and not everyone knows the best way to go about getting contacts and referrals.
You probably know that you should be utilizing social media to your advantage – but how does that work in reality?
If you can afford it, hiring a reputable person or company to help you integrate your social media with your advertising drive, might be the best money you ever spent.
But what if you don’t have that money to spend in the first place?
Here are a few pointers on using social media to your advantage.
Being consistent and regularly updating your account is the key to getting more followers and more followers ultimately mean more conversions into customers.
- PICK A TIME OF DAY TO UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNTS
It might be easier to get into the habit of say, updating your Facebook page, if you set aside a regular time slot to do it in.
Then you can follow suit with any other social media accounts that you might have.
- TIME IT RIGHT… FOR YOUR AUDIENCE
When thinking about the time of day that you are going to set aside for your social media account updates, it is also worth sparing a thought for when is the best time to do it, from your followers’ point of view.
Generally, most people will check their accounts or phones in the morning before work, in their lunch hour and then in the couple of hours after returning home and preparing dinner.
If these times are not convenient for you to update your social media accounts, it is possible to get automated programs which can do them for you, at certain times.
- DON’T TALK SHOP ALL THE TIME
If this is your personal social media account, then it is important to remember to interact with people normally, just as you would do outside of work.
No one wants to hear about real estate 100% of the time and constantly posting about it will be a massive turn off.
Remember to keep the personal/work balance about 80% in favor of the personal topics.
- REMEMBER TO INTERACT
This is social media, so remember to be social!
Talk about other people and their interests as much as you do yourself and yours.
This way you get to keep more of your followers!
- GET A BLOG – AND WRITE IT REGULARLY!
All the things that have been said about your social media account could also be said about having a blog.
The only difference here is, you can focus the blog more towards real estate – but never forget to make it relevant and impact upon “real life”.
If you are not blessed with a gift for writing, or it is simply too time consuming, then there are sites where you can hire professionals to do it for you.
Once again, this blog must be updated regularly, or people will simply give up with it.
Also, a well tended blog will get the attention from the search engines that you are wanting!
